SABB wins “Best Digital Bank for Customers in the Kingdom” award

The Saudi British Bank “SABB” won the “Best Digital Bank for Customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” award for the year 2021 from Global Finance magazine. This is in appreciation of the bank's efforts in developing innovative digital solutions that provide customers with an advanced digital banking experience.

SABB was crowned with this award based on several criteria such as the availability of a solid strategy to attract and support customers digitally, the growth of the digital customer base, the success and effectiveness of digital initiatives, in addition to the design of the website and mobile application and the jobs provided through these two platforms.

Bashar Al-Qunaibit, Deputy Managing Director of Retail Banking and Wealth Management at SABB, commented: “We are proud to receive this award, given the difficult circumstances of this year. This reinforces our ambition to be the best bank in the Kingdom, especially after the success of the historic merger between SABB and Alawwal Bank. Considering that digital banking services are one of the main pillars to support our competitive strength, as well as improve the customer experience. SABB will continue to focus on expanding its digital banking services and developing solutions to provide customers with a pioneering banking experience.”

It is worth noting that SABB Bank has recently achieved a significant increase in the number of users of digital channels, and succeeded in transferring a wide range of services and manual processes to its digital platforms. This achievement is attributed to the bank's strong position and success in attracting customers for its digital services and offerings. The percentage of active customers through digital channels reached 78%, and the majority of these customers prefer the SABB Mobile application, as the application captured 85% of the total number of digitally active customers. There is a noticeable development in the use of digital payment, especially via the mobile phone, as the number of cards used through mobile phone wallets has reached more than one million cards. SABB is working to strengthen its relationship with financial technology companies, and is currently actively working with more than 15 companies in various areas of digital banking.
