Chelsea FC won the Club World Cup for the first time in its history after beating Palmeiras 2-1 in the meeting held at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Al Jazira Club.
The Belgian Romelu Lukaku scored a goal for Chelsea in the 55th minute, and Rafael Viega equalized the score for Palmeiras in the 64th minute from a penalty kick.
The two teams played for extra time after the end of the original time with a 1-1 draw, and Chelsea settled it in their favour, thanks to the deadly goal scored by Kai Havertz from a penalty kick in the 117th minute.
Palmeiras qualified for the final match after defeating Al-Ahly of Egypt 2-0 in the semi-finals, while Chelsea beat Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia 1-0.
The first quarter of an hour of the meeting passed without any real chances on the two goals, with the advantage relatively in favor of Chelsea.
The first signs of danger came with the 17th minute when Palmeiras got a free kick that prepared for Rooney inside the penalty area to hit his head, but Chelsea goalkeeper Edward Mendy saved the situation steadily.
Contrary to the course of play, Dodo almost opened the scoring for Palmeiras in the 24th minute through a sudden shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball passed directly over Chelsea's goal.
Chelsea responded with a dangerous opportunity, when the German Kai Havertz hit a crawl ball from outside the penalty area, but it passed close to goalkeeper Weaverton Pereira.
Chelsea player Mason Mount was injured and left the field in the 31st minute, and Christian Pulisic participated in his place.
Chelsea imposed complete dominance over the course of play in the last quarter of an hour of the first half, and Thiago Silva almost snatched the first goal in the last seconds with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, but Pereira pushed the ball away with his fingertips to a corner kick.
Chelsea resumed its offensive activity in the second half and almost went ahead with a goal during the first minutes, when Antonio Rudiger hit a powerful ball from a distance, but it passed directly over Palmeiras' goal.
Chelsea deserved to lead with a goal in the 55th minute through Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, after receiving a smart pass from Callum Hudson-Odoi inside the penalty area, and he headed into the net.

The referee used video technology (VAR) before awarding a penalty kick to Palmeiras, as a result of a handball against Thiago Silva, for which Rafael Viega scored the equalizer in the 64th minute.
Haveritz was about to tip Chelsea with a second goal after a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, but the ball just crossed the crossbar.
Palmeiras responded with a dangerous opportunity when Viega fired a sudden shot from the edge of the penalty area, but Mendy stood in the way for him.
And the last ten minutes passed without a new occurrence, so the original time ended in a tie with a goal for the same, and extra time was resorted to in two halves.
Chelsea dominated the first overtime events, but failed to score the crowning goal.
The referee awarded a penalty kick to Chelsea as a result of a handball against Luan Garcia Teixeira, and Haveritz scored the second goal three minutes before the end of extra time.
And in the last seconds of extra time, Palmeiras defender Garcia Teixeira was sent off after having fouled Haveritz on his way to being alone in his team's goal.
