Minister of Communications: No prejudice to the rights of users in the Vodafone -Vodakum deal
Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications, affirmed that there is no prejudice to the rights of users in the deal to transfer ownership of Vodafone's global share of 55% in Vodafone Egypt to South African subsidiary Vodacom
Vodafone International Group announced earlier that it agreed to transfer its 55% stake in Vodafone Egypt to its subsidiary, Vodacom in South Africa, at a value of 2.6 billion euros.
The minister expected, in press statements today, Wednesday, on the sidelines of the conference held by klayy tech for automating solutions for small and medium companies, that the first months of next year will witness a tangible improvement in the level of service quality after mobile companies receive the new frequencies from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in the frequency band. 2,600, pointing out that it is scheduled to complete the construction of 2,200 mobile towers by the end of this year.

On the other hand, Dr. Amr Talaat stressed that imposing a 10% customs duty on mobile phones will contribute to localizing local manufacturing and limiting the spread of smuggled devices.
