Dr. Ali El-Moselhy, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, stated that the distinguished model complex in Assiut is the third service complex for the Ministry of its kind at the level of the Republic, after the opening of a model complex in the governorates of "Port Said and Sharkia", and that this complex includes all the services of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, which includes a package of The services provided include all commercial registry services, receiving requests for trademark registration, as well as all smart ration card services, as well as receiving citizen complaints about any wrong practices related to consumer rights, in addition to receiving requests for stamp and scale services, in accordance with international standards in providing government services.
The minister confirmed that this model complex serves the Assiut governorate and the neighboring governorates, and that an expansion is underway in establishing a distinguished model services complex at the level of the Republic, which provides for the first time all the services of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in one place, in addition to continuing to provide services in the commercial registry offices and branches. The Consumer Protection Authority and branches of stamps and scales, in order to facilitate citizens, and raise the efficiency and effectiveness of the work system to provide better service.
The Minister of Supply, Dr. Ibrahim Ashmawy, and the Governor of Assiut also inspected the services provided by the distinguished model complex, and checked the quality of the services provided. The minister listened to the mechanisms of the work system, praising the performance of the services provided within the model complex.
Ashmawy added that within the framework of digital transformation, the Internal Trade Development Agency, and under the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Supply, has developed a new model for providing commercial registry services. In addition to issuing and printing documents related to the commercial register (extracts - data certificates - negative certificates) in an effort to convert these units into fully automated units that provide their services without the presence of a human element and are available around the clock, in coordination with the Smart and Secure Documents Complex. Ashmawy pointed out that the Internal Trade Development Authority also provided 10 services for the commercial register on the Egypt Digital Portal, such as requesting an extract for approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, inference about registration in the commercial register, booking an appointment in the office, inquiring about office data and an extract from the commercial register, An inquiry about the commercial register, a request to renew a commercial register, a request for a data certificate for the register, a data update service for “modifying data, deleting my national number” as well as adding a facility to “prove my national number” on the facility. Also, 3 new services will be launched soon, bringing the number of services available for the registry Commercial on Egypt's digital portal to 13 services.
Asmawy indicated that within the framework of the agency's strategy to transform into a digital economy and enhance financial inclusion, the agency linked the databases of 95 commercial registry offices, and then began linking operations with governmental and non-governmental entities, as the linkage was made with the Tax Authority and the Ministry of Health. Registry offices were also developed and converted into distinctive model offices, pointing out that the number of commercial registry transactions during the year 2021 amounted to 3.237 million transactions, whether through the commercial registry offices or through the Egypt Digital Portal, compared to 2.272 million transactions in the previous year 2020, as a result of the development of registry offices.
