Log in to the Messenger app
If you want to delete an entire conversation, press and hold on the conversation or if you are using an iPhone, scroll the conversation to the left and select the red trash can, and your phone will always ask you to confirm before deleting.
- If you want to delete a single message, go to the conversation, tap and hold on the message you want to delete, and tap Remove at the bottom.
Then select Remove for me. If you have an Android phone, you will need to select Remove again to confirm, iPhone users will not see this final prompt, so make sure you want to select Remove for you.
- You can remove the message for everyone if you do the action within 10 minutes of sending it, and your phone gives you the option to remove for everyone or just yourself, and once you make your selection, press remove.
