Pages that published the claim:

This claim published several accounts with fake names, including: Ashraf Abdlrahman, Huda Majeed Abd, Najoud Al-Saudi, Mustafa Ibn Al-Agha, and many other fake names, and their owners (the claimants) delete them after specific times. Need to point out

Ashraf Abdlrahman's account posted the claim on June 17, 2020, at 9:46 pm.

The post has had over 11k views

Allegation in a different form Posted July 5th, 3:26pm

Up to the time of the update, the post had received a great deal of interaction, about 11,000 interactions, and 14,000 people shared it, as is the case with most of the posts that were published in previous groups and accounts.

And other allegations such as:

You can see the huge amount of these allegations that some accounts publish and then delete and update them sequentially. You can see some of them: here, here, here, here, here and here

Because of the publication of these allegations in too many formats and because of the reliance of their owners on deleting and creating them repeatedly

You won a prize because you participated and this is the last chance For you to receive! .. Fake competitions spread with this wording

The Fatabinoa team decided to debunk these articles by investigating the sources of the images used by most of the claims.

The truth about the image of the woman holding the check:

Through the platform's research, it became clear that the image belongs to Mrs. Awatef Al Harmoudi, General Manager of Operations and Operational Quality at Emirates Islamic Bank. These images were taken when the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation has donated a financial donation of one million dirhams from the Emirates Islamic Bank, in support of its development and relief programs, according to what was reported by the Emirati newspaper, Al Bayan.

The truth about the pictures of the golden check:

By using the reverse search and reviewing both the numbers on the check and the watermark: a team found out the origin of the picture of the check and it turned out that it is what is known as the ready-made template used by photo editors.

The oldest recorded image is from April 2013 on alamy.com.

The price of the file ranges between 19.99 and 199.99 dollars, depending on the type of use.

There is also a matching zero value check on shutterstock.com

However, the publisher of the fake competition did not bother to buy the image, but rather downloaded it from dreamstime.com with its watermark as is

Then, writing was added to it in a poor and primitive way to get the final result.

The publisher of the news used her name as a bank manager, and filled the image with writings unrelated to the check, “Congratulations, you won 1,000,000 with us!”

By searching for the name “Bassem Muhammad Atshan,” the team did not recognize a person who won a competition and had the same name, and that is why it was mostly randomly chosen.

The truth about Mustafa al-Agha's pictures:

Mustafa al-Agha is a Syrian sports journalist who presented the first live Syrian sports program in English, then moved between media stations and various programs, then joined LMBC channels, in 1996.

Al-Agha gained his fame in the Arab world by presenting the Sada Al-Malab program on the MBC channel

As for the dream competition, for which Al-Agha is the advertising face and the presenter of the prizes, and on which there are many such allegations, it is a competition launched by the LMBC channel, and participation in it is through the official methods that the channel declares on its official channels, and not by joining Facebook groups And interaction and publications launched by fake accounts

Fake accounts copy information from verified pages, such as the accounts of MBC channel or the journalist Mustafa Al-Agha, presenter of the dream competition, for example on Facebook.

To make it look like a real page, hoping that users won't notice the difference between it and the real one

Knowing that the reliability of the pages on the communication sites can be confirmed through the blue authentication mark - or the gray one, depending on each site - for example, here is the only official page for the MBC Dream Contest

A post about the dream contest from the official Facebook page

Which confirms that they are fake accounts that publish unreal contests to bring interaction to their groups on Facebook here, here, here, here, and on their accounts on social media

As for the rest of the images in the post, they are widely circulated on the Internet and anyone can download them, and they have no copyright.

We also reviewed those fake accounts that get deleted in frequent ways,

It turned out to be accounts full of fake contests and photos modified to get engagement and shares.

Why do these people post fake contests?

Saboteurs take advantage of global crises and popular, trending, and most popular topics.

To take advantage of the largest possible number of people affected by the new Corona virus pandemic, which is an opportunity not to be missed for them.

We see how this method takes advantage of people's interest and staying at home during the general quarantine period

And the works of many stopped, to attract their interest in the hope of the prize, and herein lies the strength of its influence..

By publishing such competitions, they increase the interaction in their groups and the views on their channels

Then their profits will increase from it..
